Festival & Photography Tours Itinerary (7 Days)

 

Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Arrive at Paro Airport. Drive to Thimphu, stopping to photograph Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge and river views. Check in and stroll Thimphu’s markets and around Tashichho Dzong for evening shots.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing & Street Photography
Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, and Changangkha Lhakhang for monks and valley views. Explore craft workshops and the farmers’ market for candid cultural shots.

Day 3: Festival Day – Thimphu Tshechu
Attend Thimphu Tshechu (or another festival), photographing mask dances, rituals, and vibrant crowds in traditional attire.

Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha – Dochula Pass
Drive via Dochula Pass, photographing chortens and Himalayan views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang fertility temple before arriving in Punakha.

Day 5: Punakha Dzong & Village Life
Visit Punakha Dzong for woodwork and river shots. Walk through villages and rice fields for authentic local portraits.

Day 6: Punakha to Paro – Kyichu Lhakhang & Farmhouse Dinner
Drive to Paro, photographing traditional houses and prayer flags. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang and enjoy a farmhouse dinner with photo opportunities.

Day 7: Tiger’s Nest Monastery & Departure
Hike to Tiger’s Nest, capturing the monastery and pine forests. Descend and transfer to Paro Airport for departure.
